Kato Teruhide
1936-2015
Kato Teruhide was born in Kyoto. After graduating Japanese painting course at Kyoto Art University, he established a studio. He was also a famous kimono fashion designer. While participating in various craft projects, he created a unique style on his own. When he was 50 years old, he decided to follow his real passion and became a traditional Kyoto woodblock artist. He held solo exhibitions in various places such as New York and gathered attention from overseas.
